To view the available map layers and associated labels so that they may be toggled 'on' or 'off':
1) Click on the Layers tab.
2) In the view layers frame, click on the title of a mapping category to expand it and display all the map layers associated within this category (e.g. Base Map).
Note: Only one category of layers can be open for display (expanded) in the layer list at a time.
3) Click on one or more check boxes to turn the visibility 'on' for different map layers (under the visibility column) and map labels (under the labels column).
4) Click on the Update Map button to refresh the map window and display the newly visible map layers. Conversely, un-checking boxes will turn map layer visibility 'off' layers and automatically turn their labels 'off' as well.
5) To
close or collapse a layer list category, click on the category title again.
6) To view the symbology associated with a visible map layer, click on the Legend tab.
